Released 2017-02-18 (JST)

  • FIX: Blur (iOS 10)
    • When closing an app in a nested folder, the wallpaper would no longer be blurred.
    • The following minor issues are known and will be fixed in time. Please do not report them.
      • When closing an app in a nested folder, if "Blur Wallpaper" is off, the status bar will suddenly appear (instead of animating).

Version 2.13.0

Released 2017-02-16 (JST)

  • NEW: Blur Wallpaper (iOS 10)
    • Disabling this option will completely disable blurring of the wallpaper when a folder is opened.
    • NOTE: Changing this option requires a respring.
  • MOD: Blur (iOS 10)
    • Wallpaper blur is now only applied for top-level folders, and not for nested folders.
      • This prevents the "hazy" appearance that would compound as nested folders were delved in to.
  • FIX: Status Bar (iOS 10)
    • Status bar would reappear briefly when closing nested folders.
  • FIX: Blur (iOS 10)
    • Blurred wallpaper would unblur "too much" when closing deeply nested folders.

    • Confirmed support for iOS 9.1.
    • Added support for 9.2.x and 9.3.x (if ever jailbroken).

Version 2.10.0

Released 2016-02-04 (JST)

  • NEW: Documentation
    • Each section in FolderEnhancer's preferences now includes a link to online documentation.
  • FIX: Folder Icon (iPad iOS 9)
    • Corrected default values for folder icon size and spacing on iPad iOS 9.
  • FIX: Folder Positioning (iOS 8.x)
    • On iOS 8.x, large folders would shift upwards after returning from an app.

Version 2.9.1

Released 2016-01-27 (JST)

  • NEW: Folder Size
    • Normally, the size of the folder is determined by the size of the icons, the number of icon rows and columns, and the icon insets.
    • Using the new "Size" option, the size of the folder can be set to a fixed size.
    • This is also useful when using other tweaks to handle icon placement, such as Iconoclasm, which themselves cannot increase the size of the folder.
    • NOTE: The height of the folder will be adjusted to allow space for the folder title.
  • NEW: Folder Icon Layout
    • Can now setup up to 5 columns even on smaller devices.
    • To prevent icon overlap, also enable the new "folder size" option with "width" set to 320pt, and enable custom icon insets with "side" set to a low value (0 ~ 10pt).
  • MOD: Icon Insets
    • Increased maximum allowed value to half the screen width for side insets and half the screen height for top/bottom insets.
    • As the increased range is too high for a slider control, these options are now entered via a text field.
  • FIX: Vertical Positioning (iPhone 6(s))
    • In some cases, vertical position of folder was off by 4 points.
  • NOTE: For those that preferred the folder size and spacing from versions before v2.9.0, use the settings listed here: Pre-v2.9.0 Layout Settings

Version 2.9.0

Released 2016-01-22 (JST)

  • NEW: Folder Rows & Columns (All Devices)
    • Can now set the number of rows and/or columns as low as 1.
  • NEW: Folder Rows & Columns (iPad)
    • Can now set up to 7 rows (in portrait orientation).
    • Can now set up to 6 columns (in portrait orientation).
  • NEW: Reverse in Landscape
    • When disabled, the row and column settings will be used as-is in both portrait and landscape orientations.
    • When enabled, the row and column settings will be swapped when in landscape orientation.
    • For example, when enabled and the layout is set to 4x3, in landscape it will become 3x4.
  • NEW: Icon Insets
    • Can now change the icon insets (the distance between the edge of the icon page and the icons inside of it) for folders.
    • NOTE: The top and sides of the icon page are the same as the folder background. However, the bottom of the icon page is not the same, due to a 16pt gap that iOS adds for the page dots).
  • NEW: Keep Title Near Folder
    • In past versions, changing the number of columns or rows for folders would cause the title to be moved down, closer to the folder. This behavior is now optional (and disabled by default).
  • MOD: Folder Sizing
    • The calculation used to determine the folder size has been altered to stay truer to iOS's default asthetic.
    • This means that for certain layouts, the folder size and icon spacing may appear different than in previous versions.
    • NOTE: The icon insets, icon size, and number of icon columns and rows determines the size of the folder (up to a maximum allowed size).
    • NOTE: A future version of FolderEnhancer will allow setting a fixed size for the folder.
  • FIX: Folder Positioning (iPhone 6(s)+)
    • On 6(s)+ devices, the folder would shift upwards when rotating from portrait to landscape and back again.
  • FIX: Preferences (iPhone 6(s)+)
    • When running Settings in landscape, could not select more than four rows for the folder layout.

Version 2.8.0.1

  • FIX: Folder Layout
    • On iPad devices running iOS 9, previously was unable to set folder layout to 3x3.
  • !!!: Added "Fund Future Development" button to settings panel.

Version 2.8.0

    • Added a button to the settings panel to reset all settings to their default values.
  • MOD: Folder Icon Opacity

  • FIX: Folder Icon Layout
    • On iPad devices running iOS 9, previously was unable to set folder icon layout to 3x3.
  • FIX: App Corner Clipping

    • Issue occurred on devices running iOS 8.3 or greater when using a larger-than-default number of icon columns.

    • On iOS 9, folders did not display properly in landscape on iPhone 6(s) Plus devices.

Version 2.7.0.1

    • On iOS 9, prevent nested folders from being ejected on respring.

Version 2.7.0

  • NEW: iOS 9
    • Added support for iOS 9.0 ~ 9.0.2.

Version 2.6.0

  • NEW: Background and Layout
    • Customization of the background of a folder or its icon can now be enabled without enabling customization of its layout.
    • This makes it possible to use FolderEnhancer to customize the background and still use another tweak to customize the layout (and vice versa).
  • NEW: Close Folder On Folder Tap
    • It is now possible to disable FolderEnhancer's "tap inside a folder to close it" functionality.
    • This option is disabled for new installs.
    • NOTE: Even when disabled, it is still possible to close a folder by tapping outside of the folder (this is default iOS behavior).
  • MOD: Rearranged Settings
    • Folder icon/view background and layout settings have been moved to a new group, titled "Appearance".
  • FIX: Close All Folders On Home Button
    • On iOS 8.x, with this option enabled, pressing the Home button would not only close the folder(s) but would also cause the home screen to scroll back to the first page.
  • FIX: Folder Icon/View Corner Radius
    • Corner radius options did not work when iOS's "Reduce Transparency" option was enabled.
    • NOTE: The opacity option will not work, of course, when "Reduce Transparency" is enabled.

Version 2.5.2

  • FIX: Folder View Opacity
    • Setting had no effect when iOS's "Reduce Transparency" option was enabled.

Version 2.5.1

  • NEW: Folder Icon Opacity
    • Can now adjust the opacity of the background of folder icons.
    • Set to 0% to make background transparent (i.e. to hide the background).

    • Can now adjust the opacity of the background of folder views.
    • Set to 0% to make background transparent (i.e. to hide the background).
  • FIX: Landscape
    • Crash would occur in certain cases when opening folders in landscape orientation (on non-iPad devices).
  • FIX: Title
    • Title would not properly fade in/out when "Folder View - Use Custom Layout" was disabled.

Version 2.5.0

  • NEW: iOS 8.3
    • Added support for iOS 8.3.
  • MOD: Landscape
    • Only hide title in landscape when using a custom layout for folder views.
  • FIX: Landscape
    • Folders would not animate properly in landscape when using the default 3x3 (non-custom) layout.

Version 2.4.2.2

  • FIX: Landscape Apps
    • Previous fix, targetted for iPhone 6(+) devices, inadvertently introduced similar issue on other devices.

Version 2.4.2.1

  • FIX: Landscape
    • Prevent splitting a folder into multiple views when "Folder View -> Use Custom Layout" is enabled.
  • FIX: Landscape Apps
    • Exiting a landscape-only app while holding the device in portrait orientation would result in the folder being briefly displayed landscape-sized.

Version 2.4.2

  • NEW: Landscape
    • Implemented initial support for landscape mode (on iPhone 6/6+ sized screens).
  • FIX: Folder Icon
    • Previously was unable to set size and spacing of preview icons when using a 3x3 layout for the folder icon.

Version 2.4.1.1

  • MOD: Folder Icon Layout
    • Using a custom folder view layout will no longer affect the folder icon layout.
    • If you want the folder icon layout to reflect the folder view layout (up to 5x5), you must use the "Folder Icon - Use Custom Layout" option to do so.
  • FIX: iPhone 6/6+
    • Crash would occur if number of rows in folder view were set to a high number.
    • This crash would only occur if "Folder Icon - Use Custom Layout" was disabled.

Version 2.4.1

  • MOD: iPhone 6/6+
    • Improved support for larger screens.
    • NOTE: Landscape orientation is not yet supported. Support will be added in a later update.
  • FIX: Settings
    • Modifying a setting that did not require a respring would cause folder icon and view layouts to revert to defaults (until next respring).

Version 2.4.0.2

  • FIX: On App Launch
    • Previous fix unfortunately prevented apps outside of folders from launching properly.

Version 2.4.0.1

  • FIX: On App Launch
    • Enabling this on iOS 8 would prevent apps from launching from folders.

Version 2.4.0

  • NEW: iOS 8
    • Added support for iOS 8.0 ~ 8.1.
    • NOTE: FolderEnhancer has not yet been optimized for iPhone 6/6+ displays. Please report any visual glitches/inconsistencies.
  • FIX: Animate Open/Close
    • Could not disable the opening animation on iOS 7.1.x.

Version 2.3.1

  • FIX: "Hide Background" Tweaks
    • Some third-party tweaks hide the folder background by either deleting it or preventing its creation. This lead to a crash, as FolderEnhancer expected the folder background to exist.

Version 2.3.0.1

  • FIX: Settings
    • Could not access the settings panel if VoiceOver was loaded (either directly or set as an "Accessibility Shortcut").

Version 2.3.0

  • NEW: Folder Preview Size & Spacing
    • Can now adjust the size of and spacing between the icons displayed in the folder preview.
  • NEW: Folder Icon Corner Radius
    • Can now adjust the "roundness" of the corners of the folder icon.
    • This allows for both square and circular folder icons.
  • NEW: Folder Corner Radius
    • Can now adjust the "roundness" of the corners of the open folder.
    • This is useful to prevent icons from being cut-off when using an increased number of icon columns/rows.
  • NEW: iOS 7.1.x
    • Added support for iOS 7.1.x.
    • NOTE: At the time of this release, iOS 7.1.x is only jailbreakable on iPhone 4 devices.

Version 2.2.0

  • NEW: Folder Preview Layouts
    • Can now customize the number of columns and rows displayed in the preview shown on folders' icons.
    • NOTE: If the number of columns on the preview does not match the number of columns inside of the folder, icons will appear to rearrange as the folder opens and closes. This is not a bug. This is due to the way that icons are laid out on iOS (Left to right, top to bottom).
  • NEW: Icon Layouts
    • Can now separately set the number of columns and rows used for icons inside of folders.
    • NOTE: Swapping the number of columns and rows upon rotation is not supported. This means that a 3x4 layout will display as 3x4 in both portrait and landscape orientations.
  • MOD: Conflicts
    • Added conflicts to the package to prevent installation with tweaks that can cause issues when used together with FolderEnhancer.
  • MOD: Settings Icon
    • Updated icon to avoid confusion caused by previous white icon.
    • Folder shape used on icon is from Font Awesome by Dave Gandy (http://fontawesome.io).

Version 2.1.0

  • NEW: Allow Nested Folders
    • An option was added to allow enabling/disabling folder nesting.
    • This option is disabled by default for new installs.
  • FIX: Folder Icon Grid
    • Prevent icon grid from scrolling up prematurely.
  • !!!: Iconoclasm, More Icons, etc.
    • If you wish to use another tweak to control the layout inside of folders, make certain to reset FolderEnhancer's layout option to "3 x 3".
    • Failing to do so can lead to issues, such as the folder icon's icon grid not displaying properly.
  • !!!: Iconoclasm
    • If you wish to use FolderEnhancer to control the layout inside of folders, make sure to set Iconoclasm's "Extra Layout" setting to "System Default".

Version 2.0.2

  • FIX: Iconoclasm
    • Iconoclasm hardcodes the number of rows allowed in a folder. This caused FolderEnhancer's 4x4 layout to display as 4x3.
    • Iconoclasm does not properly report the number of "visible" icon rows in a folder. This caused Iconoclasm layouts inside of folders to appear either squashed or stretched.

Version 2.0.1

  • FIX: Bigify(+)
    • An implementation detail of Bigify prevented FolderEnhancer's "tap to close" feature from working properly.
    • As a result, apps in folders could not be launched.
  • FIX: Iconoclasm
    • Iconoclasm's "System Default" setting appears to use the default values for the home screen, not for folders.
    • When "System Default" is set for "Extras", FolderEnhancer will now use its own settings inside of folders.

Version 2.0.0

  • Initial release.
  • NOTE: FolderEnhancer has been completely rewritten for iOS 7.
  • NOTE: This is still an early version, and features are still minimal. More features will be added, but it will take time.
