Media players in your network are able to detect your shared music via bonjour (see screenshot). If you start the firefly media server via FireflyStarter the server is forked in the background and continues streaming you music data if you terminate FireflyStarter. To stop the streaming server open again FireflyStarter and stop the server with the on/off switch.
If the server stopped you are able to configure the server with some basic options:
* port: (default:3689 should not be changed)
* admin_pw: (default:'default', used when opening webfrontend)
* servername: (default:'ipod'. see screenshot).
* mp3_dir: (default:/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/, the dir which is recursivly search for media files, mp3, mp4 etc.)
If the firefly media server is running you could open the web frontend with the "Start" button. Then Safari opens and you could adjust some other config options and see some stats about your index media files.
