Have you ever used FStream from the AppStore and thought:"Holy #!*?, why are these files so huge?!"

Why have 10 seconds in 1.75MB if they can be 300kb?

GStream takes your FStream recordings and turns them into MP3 in the way FFaac does. GStream is a complete re-write however to make sure everything works.

  • 0.Type "gstream" without quotes into the terminal of your choice
  • 1.Choose files through 3 second audio-previews
  • 2.Decide whether to delete the source files or not
  • 3.Decide whether to write ID3-Tags or not
  • 3a. Another time 3 second audio-previews so you know which song you're writing tags for. (in-case you do not know every randomly generated number from FStream)

Busy? From the moment you passed step 2, or 3a if you chose to write tags, GStream is completely backgrounded and will notify you with my very own angel-like voice when it's done. Not even a respring can stop your conversion. SpringBoard crashed while conversion? Not an issue at all.

-As always: Works with PwnTunes
-Works backgrounded
-Works with all formats
-It just works, get over it.

This is a command-line utility and does therefore not add an icon to your homescreen. Start via SSH or a terminal of your choice.

GStream uses FFmpeg and it's codecs. Use of FFmpeg may be restricted/illegal in your country, please check back with your local laws.
