Shows system Information from /var/log/syslog in a single fullscreen view.
Features:
- Deleting the Syslog File.
- Toggle systemlogging on and off
- Search log for the ocurrence of keywords and mark them in the Text.
- Do google searches with the found keywords.
You can choose if found Text is marked by selection highlighting, or as part of an URL which performs a google search.
Controls:
-The Refreshbutton in the bottom left reloads the Content of the Syslog File.
-The left switch toggles the Systemlogging on and off. System Logging is usually off if not needed.
-The right switch is setting the type of marking textfinds, as mentioned above.
-The deletebutton erases the content of the Syslog, which could be of use, if the file gets too big.
The magnifier next to the searchtextfield does, by repeated pressing, subsequent searches.
The textview scrolls to the found text and marks the find. Searches are always done backwards, so you get always the newest information first.
The tool is intended for developers as convenient way to gain system information from /var/log/syslog
